The Making of a Trailer

Wouldn't it be great to do a short film that discussed what goes into common trailers? There's a profound selfishness at work in this, of course, since my final project is interested in similar issues, but it could still be fun to explore genre trailers, script snippets of movies and spurious reviews, and experiment with camera angles to make a fun composition all the while embracing/mocking trialer conventions. And then post it on youtube, of course, if its anything worth posting. Which I bet it would be.

Are you thinking an instructional video, an informative video, or perhaps some demonstations (with critiques?). Should we analyze trailers (you so shoulda watched Videodrme with us, it's the most awesome trailer that has nothing to with the movie ever)? Should we remix trailers? Where do you wanna take this?

We would give general backgrounds on trailers, discuss genre conventions, and dramatize common trailer types. Also dramatize examples of bad trailers. I would work hard to make it hilarious.
