English 680V: Visual Rhetoric in a Technological Age (Purdue) - analogue versus digital http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7/taxonomy/term/42/all en The Power of Moleskine http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7/node/322
I don't know how many of you are Moleskine fans, but I adore my little notebooks. (And if you've never heard of Moleskine, then I pity you and offer the following to enrich your life: the Moleskine website) While doing some visrhet research, I came across this little article that I thought might be interesting in the context of the paper vs screen debate (which, by the way, I proudly oscillate, turning my coat in and out as I shuffle between the two:)). I found it on The Wandering Moleskine Project website . It's a great site containing images of moleskine-user content. There's some exceptionally beautiful art, but the site architecture is less than optimal, so you'll have to scroll down some seriously loong pages:) Anyway, check out the article and the sites if you're interested. Oh, and the best part--the publication is a South African journal with the name Convergence. How awesome is that. The article is "Moleskine: or the Art of Taking Notice" and is attached below.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7/node/322#comment analogue versus digital Fri, 23 Mar 2007 22:10:58 -0400 rhetoricat 322 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7 A freshman came up to me in a coffee shop . . . http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7/node/266
I was grading in a cafe and a lovely, although quite young, man came up to me and put forth his attempt at small talk. He complimented my grading style (creepy reaindg over the shoulder is a ourtship ritual, I keep forgetting) and I directed him to the writing lab. He said one thing that really intersted me, however: he complimented me on my use of a grade book rather than an Exel spreadsheet.

http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7/node/266#comment analogue versus digital Tue, 27 Feb 2007 10:59:46 -0500 Adryan 266 at http://www.digitalparlor.org/sp07/blakesley7
