Comitatus formed in 1999
for students interested
in medieval studies to
gather together for discussion
of a range of topics (literature,
history, art, cooking,
etc.). It has evolved
into an ever-increasing
group of students (both
graduate and undergraduate)
and activities including
a reading group, annual
conference, fall picnic,
and many other sundry
activities. We also maintain
a mailing list to send
out information about
campus activities that
are of interest to medievalists. |

Reading Groups
- Ryan will be organizing the reading groups and we currently have two meeting on alternating weeks: one for short fiction and one for non-fiction (both primary and secondary texts) - see the Activities page for more information.
Silent Auction - to
raise money for the
conference, we held
a silent auction at
the end of November - thank you to everyone who donated items and/or placed bids in the auction; if you have donations for the 2008 auction, contact Karen Robinson.
Conference - in February (the 15th and 16th),
we had our sixth annual conference; the theme was "Authority, Authorship, and Audience in the Middle Ages" and our plenary speaker was Eve Salisbury. You can read more about the conference on the Conference page. |
