Marisa Buccieri received the Peter C. Braeger undergraduate award in the 77th Annual Literary Awards Competition at Purdue University for her essay titled "Perceval and Roland: Integrating Chivalry with Religion."

Jack Baker received the Peter C. Braeger graduate award in the 77th Annual Literary Awards Competition at Purdue University for his essay titled "Eques quondam Piusque futurus: The Dialectical Transformation of Lancelot from Secular Knight to Holy Man in the Morte Darthur."

Kristin Leaman who has been accepted into the one-year MA program in Medieval Icelandic Studies at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. The program is taught in English by both American and Icelandic Professors.  She'll be working with manuscripts in the Arni Magnusson Institute for Icelandic Studies as well as learning about Viking archaeology, sagas, Old Icelandic and Icelandic, and many others. She'll be there roughly from August 2008 to August 2009, and then plans to be off to a PhD program somewhere. Congratulations, Kristin!

Frank Tobienne who received an honorable mention in the 2008 competition for the Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowship program. Congratulations, Frank!

Ryan Naughton for passing his prospectus defense; he is now ABD. Congratulations, Ryan!
