tons/acre), and a total value of $136,996,000. In 1997, production of green peas for processing was up about 15% from 1996. About 57% of the crop was used for freezing and the remainder for canning in 1997.
The following data shows production (tons), harvested acres, yield (tons/acre) and total value ($) of the processing green pea crop for the major green pea producing states for the period 1993 to 1997.
