U.S. Fresh Market Snap Bean Production Statistics (1993 - 1997)

Major producers of snap beans for fresh market are Florida, California, Georgia, New York and Tennessee. Snap beans for fresh market were harvested from 79,900 acres in the U.S. in 1997, with a total yield of 3,790,000 cwt (average yield = 47 cwt/acre), and a total value of $156,377,000. In 1997, production of fresh market snap beans was up about 2% from 1996.
