| If you are still interested after reading the previous paragraph, I would suggest that a potential student should go back to my my main page and look for two things. First, find something described in one of my papers that you think you could do better or something you think I did wrong. Second, find something on my list of topics that I am interested in working on. If you can then write me a cogent email discussing these issues then we can further explore graduate student opportunities with me. For strong students, there is no lack of funding opportunities. | |
| I will expect diligence, patience, and brilliance from a student. I expect that a Ph.D. student should produce at least 3 papers from his/her dissertation work. You can expect that I will take/send a student on exciting trips, provide him/her with a computational and conceptual platform with which to perform excellent research, and engage in constant mentorship.
