Since Purdue Kendo Club is a non-profit student organization, any club dues collected from each and every member, regardless of seniority, within the first month of each Fall and Spring semester will go towards covering the following: 

• Printing of zekken for all actively participating members with bogu
• Purchase of equipment (shinai, bokken, bogu, hakama, keikogi, etc.) for club use
• Annual membership fees for Mid West Kendo Federation and All United States Kendo Federation for all actively participating members
• Subsidizing travel costs for all members attending tournaments
• Costs of holding in-club events (mini-tournaments, end of semester celebrations, etc.) that are open to all members

 

*Tournament participation fees should be paid in full by each participating member, unless indicated by the officers, in which case, the fees will likely be subsidized by the club. 

Purdue Kendo Club will under no circumstance use club dues to cover the following: 

• Purchase of equipment (shinai, bokken, bogu, hakama, keikogi, etc.) for individual use
• All fees for rank-testing
• Subsidizing travel costs for non-members (family, friends, etc.) attending tournaments separately from any members
• Costs of holding events (mini-tournaments, end of semester celebrations, etc.) exclusive only to certain members, and without prior consultation with the officers.

-    Payment of the officers in-charge of running the club. Our work is completely voluntary! :D 

The various uses of the club dues are intended for the benefit of all actively participating members and overall smooth running of the club. To facilitate this, we request that all members be timely in the payment of club dues at the start of each semester. In addition, we urge all members to attend practice regularly and join us in tournaments, to make the most of the club dues each has paid and prevent potential free-riding. 

Any amount of club dues remaining at the end of each academic year will be rolled-over for use in the next year.
