CLCS 483 HONORS REQUIREMENTS (Spring, 2010)

In addition to (or in place of) the requirements set for the rest of the class, Honors students in CLCS 483 are expected to fulfill the following:

          1.  Extra Readings: Honors Students are expected to read all the Recommended readings in the syllabus.

          2.  Research Paper: The paper should be between 15 pages and in proper classical form.  The professor will conduct ONE Honors Tutorial to discuss the requirements and objectives of the paper.

          3.  One 10/15-Minute Class Presentation, to be performed probably during the last week of class.  Range of topics varies.  Typically, I assign slide presentations of various archaeological sites, art forms or types of architecture.  Honors Students are also welcome to present the substance of their research papers in  class.

          4. Consistent Class Participation.  Honors Students are expected to have completed the assigned readings on time and to be prepared to discuss them in class.  For this reason attendance by Honors Students is mandatory.  I will allow TWO unexcused absence and then deduct 1.5% from final grade for every  additional absence.
