Working with ESL students or non-native speakers of English (NNS) is often a difficult task in a writing center.  Even veteran tutors have lots of questions about what is most effective when tutoring NNS. 

For class on Monday, November 7, we will have Gigi Taylor, who will talk with us about working with NNS.  As you know, Gigi is an experienced graduate tutor who is also the Writing Lab's ESL Coordinator.  She is also specializing in ESL for her PhD studies.  

 In preparation for Gigi's visit, post any questions you have about working with NNS, which Gigi will address during her visit.  Your questions can relate to general tutoring practices when working with ESL students, her experiences, and any of the reading topics (such as contrastive rhetoric, for example).
