Self-Evaluations
Throughout the entire semester, you've encountered writing center theory in various readings and assignments and through in-Lab activities, you've put the theory into practice. You've observed tutorials, you've interviewed tutors and interacted with them, you've evaluated sample papers, and finally, you've been able to complete two mock tutorials. All of this was designed to get you accustomed to the role of a peer tutor.
As we approach the end of the semester, I want you to be introspective and complete a self-evaluation of yourself as a tutor. Write at least 3 paragraphs and describe your sense of your own tutoring style. Identify what you feel your strengths and weaknesses are. Include some goals you have as a peer tutor. For example, what would you like to work on? What skills and attributes would you like to build and how can the Writing Lab help you accomplish this?
You are all highly encouraged to discuss your self-evaluations with a Writing Lab tutor before you complete this post.
