Welcome to the 2008 Boilerman Triathlon, home to the most spacious transition zone. The event is hosted by Purdue University's Triathlon Team.

2008 Key Race Information (updated 2/1/2008)
Time and Location: The race will be Saturday September 27th, 2008 at 9:00am. The location of the race is currently changing. It most likely will be held at the Fairfield Lake County Park near Dayton, IN.

before 11:59 pm Friday September 19th to guarantee your t-shirt and size. Extra shirts will be
ordered, but sizes and availability can not be guaranteed after this
time.
There are no refunds or transfer of registration for this event. Sorry, but the finances going through the school make refunds impossible.
Packet Pickup: Packet Pickup is tentatively scheduled for 4-9 on Friday at the race site and again the morning of from 6:30 am until 8am. If you are a USAT card holder, you MUST bring you USAT ID with you, as well as an additional photo ID. If you forget your ID you have a couple of options, go get it, print off a temporary license from USAT website (we do not have internet), or pay the $10 one day fee (this can be used to reduce a future USAT renewal). Collegiate students, please bring you collegiate ID with you as well.
Race Day Times:
6:30 am - Transition and Packet Pickup Open
8:00 am - Packet pickup closes, if you don't have your packet, sorry no race
8:45 am - Transition Closes
8:45 am - Pre-race Meeting
9:00am - Race starts, first wave
About the Event: There is no rain date for the event, we will race rain or shine. Due to inclement weather, Purdue's Triathlon Team reserves the right to modify the course. In the event of a "natural disaster" no refund will be given. Please register on active (coming soon). The race will start in a wave format, which will be determined the week before the race. Collegiate men and women will be the first to leave.
Rules: The Boilerman Triathlon is expected to be a USAT sanctioned race, so please familiarize yourself with the rules. Please check here for a list of most commonly broken rules. Especially make sure you are wearing you cycling helmet whenever you are on your bike!
Race Course: The race course will be similar to last year with the 1500m swim in Rainy Brook Bay. The water temperature will be checked on race day, in past years the event has been wet suit legal. The average water temperature on race day the past few years has been in the mid 70s. If you do not own a wetsuit they will NOT be rented at the race site, please plan ahead accordingly and rent one. Following transition to your bike you will complete a 40km ride through the farms south of Lafayette. The 10km run course is currently being re-designed after comments from 2007. Please see the course maps for more information.Awards: Awards will be given to the top winner in the following age groups: U19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. through 60+. A minimum of 3 people to compromise an age group. Divisions are subject to change according to entries.
