Thanks to everyone who participated in our annual Secret Santa this year! Everyone had a good time exchanging gifts, eating cookies, and just hanging out before the last stretch of the semester. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! It's back to school and almost time for finals! In between your studying for exams, take a break and hang out with VSA one last time before the semester is over! It's that time for our annual Secret Santa Gift Exchange! Basically all you have to do is list 3 items under $20 that you would like to receive and then you will be given someone to buy a gift for. At the gift exchange, everyone will open their gifts and their Secret Santa will be revealed to them. This is a great time to just relax, hang out, and spread the holiday spirit. If you want to participate, just fill out the form here. Also, it's still not too late to order a VSA hoodie! Keep warm and study hard!

The Masquerade Formal and the Flaunt after party were huge successes so thank you to those of you who came out and supported the events. Keep in mind that VSA will be having a formal on Friday, November 13, 2009, so keep that date free!

It's that time of year! Voting on a hoodie design was done at the general meeting last month, and now it's time for you to order your own SuperVSA hoodie! The design can be found here! The cost is only $20 for members and $25 for anyone else interested! Buy an extra one as a great Christmas present! Be sure to fill out the information on the spreadsheet as soon as possible so that we can get this order in!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to volunteer this past Saturday with Boiler Volunteer Network. It was really cold, but we helped to collect a lot of non-perishable food items to donate to the less fortunate so it was very successful. If you missed out on the volunteer opportunity, we have a fundraising event you can participate in. VSA will be doing Exponent Stuffing (stuffing newspapers with various ads/flyers) this Thursday night/Friday morning at the Exponent Building. Please sign up on this spreadsheet so we know how many people to expect. Please contribute some of your time and effort to help fundraise for VSA!

Also, for those of you who are interested in attending the formal/masquerade, sign-up is closing this Friday, November 14, so be sure to sign up now! Tickets are $25/person or $45/couple, and it is on Friday, November 21. The ticket includes a dinner and various performances so don't miss out! The event is hosted by various Asian organizations so this is also a great way to network and meet new people. Come with your friends or a date! Sign up now before it's too late!

Hey everyone! Hope everybody had a great and safe Halloween weekend. We're more than halfway through the semester, but that doesn't mean we still don't have a couple more events coming up. This Saturday, November 8, we will be volunteering for Community Action Day with the Boiler Volunteer Network. If you want to join us, please sign here and include the following information:

Hope everyone had a great Fall Break! Thanks for everyone who came out to the meeting; we discussed all of our upcoming events for the semester. We also voted for our hoodie design for this semester so we'll be sending out a sign-up sheet soon. For those who weren't able to attend, you can look over the minutes here.

This Friday, October 24, we will be taking a road trip to The Ohio State University for their 4th Annual VSA Halloween Bash. If you want to come, you have to add your name, time you're done with class, and phone number to this document before 10pm on Wednesday, October 22 or else you won't be guaranteed a ride.

Also, next week, on Friday, October 31, will be the annual Halloween party. The location will be announced later on, but get your costumes ready for a night of fun! The time is from 10:00pm to 2:00am; more details can be found on the Facebook event. We'll keep you all updated as more details are finalized.

The weekend is now over, but it's the last week before Fall Break begins! Thanks to everyone who came out to our game night this past Friday; it was a huge success! Pictures from this event can be found in the gallery section.

Just a reminder that this Thursday, October 9, we will be having a general meeting at 6:30pm in KRAN G10. Be sure to check out the Facebook event for more details. It's important to attend this meeting because there is a lot of information that we will be discussing with everyone. It's the first day of October, and we're close to half of the semester being over! This Friday, October 3, we will be having a game night at Andy's house from 9pm-12am. It should be a lot of fun, so hope to see everyone there!

Next Thursday, October 9, we will be having a meeting at 6:30pm in KRAN G10. Be sure to attend because we will discussing important upcoming events such as the ASUB Halloween Party and volunteering opportunities.

Happy Autumn! It's already the end of September, and October is just around the corner! Hope everyone had a great weekend! For those who couldn't make it out Friday night, a big group of us went to the Delirious house music party. It was a lot of fun, but for those who missed out, keep your calendar open for the ASUB Halloween party coming toward the end of October.

The week is halfway over, and the weekend is almost here! Put the books away for a little bit and enjoy a night out with VSA! This Friday, September 19, there will be a house music party at The Muse in downtown Lafayette. Check out the flyer and Facebook event for more information.

All of the eboard and a lot of members will be attending this party. If you're interested in coming with us and need a ride, let either Andy (3176947648), Linda (7148158801), or Jackie (3178508978) know by Thursday. If you are a member who already paid dues for the semester, you will receive member benefits. If you haven't paid dues yet, you can still come, pay dues, and still receive the special benefits. Thanks to everyone who came out to our call out meeting last week and for those who could make it out to bowling afterwards! If you could not attend the meeting, you can still become a member as long as you pay the $10 dues for the semester. Those of you who did attend, but did not pay your dues should do so ASAP. The call out meeting for the 2008-2009 school year will be on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 7PM at RAWLS 1086. Come out to learn about the organization and meet a bunch of new people! There will be pizza and drinks provided just for coming! All are welcome, so just because you're not Vietnamese, doesn't mean you can't come!
