> Ella Enchanted

Anne Hathaway who stars as Ella of Frell wears 3 dresses, 3 tops, 2 skirts, what can only be assumed as a nightgown/houserobe, a cloak and 3 belts throughout the movie.

Her school dress consists of a dark blue jumper over a lacy top that is gathered at the neck by a drawstring. It has the same basic sleeve shape as her blue crochet shirt (described in the next section). The blue jumper has small yellow flowers on it and a pocket on the right hip.

School Dress

Her traveling skirt is a basic a-line ankle length made of cross-dyed silk. The two colors are blue and purple. The fabric is slightly crushed. It has a underlayer of white which is not sewn at the bottom to the overlayer. The top is a flower embroidery of white on white. It has 5 seams in the front and the bust area is a seperate peice gathered into the seam. Her leather belt (worn with the traveling skirt) is secured in front with one leather string in two holes, and in the back with three. The edges are bound with leather string much like moccasins are. It has embroidered squigly leaves (looks like the leaves of a Black Locust tree I took a lot of agriculture classes, that's my excuse for knowing that). The leaves are between 3 flowers and the petals are the opposite color as the middle. The middle is the same color as the leaves and the pattern alternates. Her blue cloak is a crushed velvet (also called panne velvet) and is secured by two ties with painted flowers (3 per button blue, white, and red). The ties are odd, they aren't attached like normal ties. It's basically a bow with the loops being slid behind the bottons to secure it.

Her other top, the blue crochet, is of plain cotton and has round split sleeves. There is a seam under her bust (sperate peice). The other belt she wears is decorated by two round metal peices in front joined by a large circle. There are two metal circles just like in the front on either side of her hips.

Her other blue skirt is the same as the traveling one except it has a slit in the front (and a seam extending from the slit so the other seam is probably in the middle of the back). The belt she wears with her split skirt is round metal ovals. The pale blue flower top has princess seams. The middle peice is not rouched, while the two on either side are.

Split Blue Skirt

Her ballgown is of a synthetic fabric called cellophane (it's often used on costume fairy wings) and raw silk (you can see the slubs in some of the pictures). Is is tightly laced up the back and is boned. The bodice is decorated in the front in a "v" with the cellophane and is embroidered. The skirt fabric is also embroidered with flowers. The petticoat underneath is striped with a plain ruffled edge.

Ball Gown

Her second gown, the wedding dress, has sleeves that go nearly to her ankles when her arms are down. They are chiffon with emboidered dashes. The front bodice area has small gathers on either side of the front. There is a white trim ribbon under the bust. The bottom of the dress is embroidered flowers of yellow and blue and green (hard to tell). The skirt part of the dress is fully detachable with a very short (way above the knees) skirt which is worn with white boots.

Please note I did not describe her houserobe because I currently do not have any pictures of it, and would prefer to look at the dvd first. All of my observations are my opinion only and are subject to change, so if any one has better suggestions or different ideas, let me know!
