My Notifications & Invitations

Notifications are a running log of your actions and interactions with other Scholar users. You will get the notification messages from your friends and a Scholar administrator concerning news, announcements, system-wide updates, progress of invitation, etc.
The newest notifications will be listed on the top. If you want to delete certain notification messages you don’t want to keep, click on the delete button (a red X icon) appeared at the end of the message.
You can also view all notifications by clicking “View All Notification” available on the bottom of the panel.
Invitations are generated to initiate a Friend relationship.The progress of an invitation process will be reported in this panel as well. You will get the messages such as a notice of a sent invitation, accepted/declined/canceled invitations, etc.
How to Invite a User?
You can send an invitation message to others to join in Scholar. Click "Invite a User" and a setup box will appear.

To Send an Invitation to other Scholar users:
Simply add them as a Friend. The invitation message will be sent as a form of notification and an email to the invitee. Click here to view how to add as Friends.
To Send an Invitation to non-Scholar users:
You can send an invitation email by filling out the "Invite a User" form. The invitee will receive an email with the link to the Scholar account setup page. When the invitees create their Scholar accounts, they will have temporary access to Scholar by logging into Scholar Main Home at www.scholar.com.
To complete the account registration process and get permanent access to Scholar, the invitees need to access Scholar from a registered Blackboard system in the next three days. If the registration process isn’t complete in the next three days, the Scholar account will be disabled until it is properly done.
Scholar is a service exclusively for Blackboard users. Accessing Scholar from a registered Blackboard system validates that you are a Blackboard user and associates your new Scholar account with your existing Blackboard account to enable single sign-on between your course management system and Scholar.
Manage Invitations
Invitations sent to you will arrive in two forms:
- An email to the primary email address in your Scholar account
- A notification message in the My Notifications panel
You can view the invitations in different ways:
- By clicking on the link in the invitation email received
- Through the link in a notification message arrived in the My Notifications panel
- Through the "View Invitations" link available on the bottom of the My Notifications panel
To Accept/Reject/Cancel invitations:
Accept/Reject buttons alongside the invitation listing will be avilable. When you Accept it, you will become Friends with the user who send the invitation. If you Reject it, the inviter will not be added to your Network as a Friend, nor will you be added to theirs.
Before accepted/rejected, you can cancel your invitation through "Sent Invitations". Click "View Invitations" and you will get two menu tabs: "Sent" and "Received". Under the Sent Invitations tab, a cancel button will be available.
