My Profile
The profile in Scholar gives you the opportunity to share much information about yourself with other Scholar users.

Expand the My Profile panel and click your user name or “View Full Profile” to go to your profile setup page. The link to the profile page is also available in the Settings (the “Manage My Profile” link).

The profile consists of six sections: Personal Information, Contact Information, Interests, Education Information, Work, and Network Privacy. Click the "Edit" button of each section to update the information.
- Personal Information: basic information about yourself (username, photo, name, status, birthday, hometown, current location, time zone and a description about me)
- Contact Information: ways to contact you (Email addresses, IM, Websites, Profiles in other networking sites)
- Interests: "Tag yourself". Enter a running list of your interests and discipline interests like you do with tags for your bookmarks
- Educational Information
- Work: add places you have worked and when, including location and title
- Network Privacy: you can setup who can see my friends/favorites/fans.
Each section has its own Privacy setting with four options: Public, Scholar Users Only, Friends Only, or Private.

- Public - share with everyone that visits the Scholar site, including those without Scholar accounts that are just browsing www.scholar.com
- Scholar Users Only - share only with those who have Scholar accounts
- Friends Only - share only with the users that are in your Network as Friends
- Private - do not share with anyone
How to Upload a Photo in Profile
You can add a photo in your profile. Click the "Edit" button in the Personal Information section of the profile. Click "Upload New Photo".

In the next page, locate the photo you would like to add by browsing and click "Upload". Supported file formats for the profile photo are .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png.
You will see the photo just uploaded appears in your profile.
View Other Profiles
You can view other Scholar user's profile by clicking on their photo or their username in several places such as:
- My Notifications
- User Search results
- My Network
