How Does Scholar Work?
Step 1: Create your account (in My Scholar Home)
Step 2: Register the course (in Scholar Course Home)
Step 3: Install Scholar Bookmarklet
Step 4: Start Bookmarking
Step 1: Create Your Account
First, activate My Scholar Home powerlink in your Blackboard course. To do this, under the “Build” tab, click “Add Content Link” and select “My Scholar Home".

On the submenu that appears,, click “Create My Scholar Home”.

Enter a title . In this tutorial, we will enter the name “My Scholar Homepage”. Click “Save”.

Now you will see a "My Scholar Homepage" icon on your course home page. The icon is a link to your Scholar homepage.
From now on, you will work with Scholar through the "Teach" tab. Click the “Teach” tab, then click the My Scholar Homepage icon.

It will open in a new browser tab or window and display the "New User" window. If you already have a Scholar account, click on "Already a Scholar member?" in the right.

If you do not yet have a Scholar account, fill out the form and click “Create User”. Your Scholar Home page will appear. Note that it will have your name at the top (as in the image below).

Notes:
- After you have created your account, each subsequent access of Scholar through your Blackboard class will not require a separate login.
- After your account is created through Blackboard, you can still use Scholar even after leaving for non-Blackboard institutions. At any time after creating your account, you can access your Scholar homepage through www.scholar.com.
You as an instructor can create a Scholar Course Home as well. Click here to view how to register your course and create a Scholar Course Home.
