How Does Scholar Work?

A bookmarklet is a small computer application used to store an URL of a web page. It makes bookmarking convenient because you can do it while surfing the web with your web browser. Click here to to see Scholar's instructions on how to install the Scholar Bookmarklet.

On the Scholar homepage, you will find the link to the bookmarklet installation page on the top right corner.

Instructions are available for most commonly-used web browsers. Select your browser from the list to see installation instructions.

When the bookmarklet is installed in your chosen browser, you will see “Scholar It!” in the browser toolbar.

Note:

• If you wish to install the Scholar bookmarklet in a browser in the ITaP labs, use FireFox. In the ITaP labs, Internet Explorer will notsave the link bar setting in your profile - which means that the Scholar It! in IE will be removed when you log out.
