One for the Win Column

“No chatter on the blog, ab. Where you been?” Nowhere. A lot of stuff going on, but nothing getting done. Kind of a drag. Construction is still staggering along even though, yeah, we were supposed to be done in like April. Overall, I don’t even want to think about anything like that, which is why I haven’t posted.

But that doesn’t mean there’s no progress. In fact, at least one thing happened right on schedule: I paid off my mortgage.

I’d planned a few years ago to get that done before my birthday this year, and I did. Of course, it’s less meaningful with a new six-figure debt hanging over my head, but at least I accomplished something.

I’d planned to catch my breath after paying that off and then start this construction with a clean slate, but the repair part wouldn’t wait, so I’ve had to overlap. And, as you can guess, I am broker than broke, especially once the credit line ran out and I had start paying the contractor with real money, which I said I wasn’t going to do. Mostly because I really can’t.

If they get done soon, which they should unless we discover anything else interesting (guess I need to write about that), I should be OK in a couple of months, but things are still pretty hairy.

Now I’m bummed. See? Told you I didn’t want to talk about it.
