Well, after some false starts and talking to some contractors (and being apparently ignored by a few others), the renovation of My Old House is underway! First step is a new roof, which should go on next week. This is a big, scary, high roof, so I’m glad I don’t have to work up there. I’ll stick some pictures in here later.
Next up is removing the current addition on the back of the house and replacing it with… something. We haven’t figured out exactly what yet. I’m going to try to come up with a model of the original house to play with so I can try different things. Stay tuned.
After that, I finally get to finish my attic. That’ll make four useful floors if you count the basement (and you should), which is great if you don’t mind climbing some stairs. Can’t even get in the house without using some, of course. There was clearly no ADA in 1905.
