Interview Tips

If you missed the interview workshop and would like to interview with companies, read through the following presentations, and sign up for a mock interview.
1. Log into/ Create a CCO Express account.
2. Upload your resume
3. Search for "Mock Interview" and sign-up for 30-minute time slot.

It will be on September 23rd, 2011 (Friday). For those interested to practice interview skills, please sign-up for Mock Interview too. Thank you.

Milliman Interview Workshop

Note: This interview workshop will be followed by Milliman Milwaukee's company presentation, which will occur at approximately 7:30pm. All who want to interview with them must attend the presentation.

NOTE: Two Workshops are MANDATORY for all Freshmen & Sophomores who want to interview and are highly recommended for all juniors and seniors

2010 Actuarial Awareness Night

The Purdue Actuarial Club is excited to announce our 4th Annual Actuarial Awareness Night! The night will take place on April 5, 2010at 7:00pm in Rawls 1086. The night will include a free catered dinner followed by workshop presentations on the life & health, property & casualty, and consulting fields. Professional actuaries from across the country will be speaking about their individual actuarial fields and discussing the details of their day-to-day jobs. All students are invited to attend, enjoy the free dinner, and interact with potential employers. Casual or business casual dress is appropriate.

Interview Workshop:
    Thursday, September 10th 6:30pm-7:30pm
    ARMS B061

Resume Workshop:
    Monday, September 14th 6:30pm-9:00pm
    BRNG 2280

All freshmen and sophomores must attend both the Interview Workshop and Resume Workshop if they want to interview with recruiting companies. All others are not required to attend these workshops, however, it is highly encouraged that you do so.

If you have a final draft of your resume and want your resume to be available to companies recruiting between Sept. 21-25, please email it to purdueactuaryclub@gmail.com by September 14th. We highly encourage people to get their resumes to us by this date. For freshmen, sophomores, and those attending the Resume Workshop, please try to email us your resume by Sept. 14th and bring it with you to the Resume Workshop. The workshop will help you finalize your resume.

Purdue Actuary Club Callout September 2009

The Purdue Actuary Club will be holding its call-out on Tuesday, September 1st at 6:30pm in WTHR 104. Come on out to learn about all of the opportunities our club has to offer and to eat some FREE PIZZA. We will be discussing the professional development and social activities that we have planned for this upcoming semester and we hope that you can all make it.

How to join the club (posted January 27)

If you would like to join the actuary club for Spring semester please visit Julie Morris in MA820. Dues are $10. There will be no callout for the Spring semester.

Interview Quiz (posted September 15)

We have realized that there have been issues with our emails the past 2 weeks so for those that have had confusion about workshops and mock interviews we have a solution. If you missed either workshop or both, take this quiz, (Interview Quiz), and submit it to the club office, MA803 as soon as possible. If you do not do this you will be unable to interview. If you miss the mock interviews, email the club with some free times that you can have one during the coming week. If you have anymore questions do not hesitate to email us. Thank you and sorry for the confusion.

Mock Interviews (posted September 10)

Mock Interviews will be held on Tuesday, September 16, in the Hicks Library. All Freshman and Sophomores who wish to interview must attend, but anyone is welcome to come brush up on your interviewing skills. Please go to the "Interview Info" page and follow the instructions to sign up on the interview scheduler. High School Initiative Meeting (Posted November 26)

On Wednesday, November 27th, at 6:30 PM in BRNG 1260, the HSI committee will be passing out materials for ANY club member interesting in giving a small 5-10 minute presentation about the actuarial profession to their former high school over the holiday break.

As many of you know, all the company presentations, interviews, and some other special events are put together by the student officers of the club. The officers take extra time out of their days to keep in contact with several companies, make reservations at the companies' requests, and all the little things that make our company visits successful. Thanks to Andy, Helen, all the companies, and all the members for making the Purdue Actuary Club a success.

First Social Event of the Semster!! (Posted September 28)

The Social Committee is putting on a Photo Scavenger Hunt on Monday, October 1st. Contestants are to meet under the MATH building at 6:30 (weather permitting). Prizes shall be awarded! Please bring your own digital camera if you have one. Hope to see you there!!
