Introduction
This section contains a collection of conceptual maps and other advance organizers that I use as tools when designing qualitative research studies as well as when desinging instructional interventions.
The last section, simulations, as different from the others, was developed as part of my ongoing research in computational simulations as learning tools.
All of these materials are graphical summaries of book chapters and papers I read as part of the coursework of the Master in Educational Technology and the Ph.D. in Engineering Education.
Research Methods
The advance organizers contained in this section represent summaries of the readings of the courses of Qualitative Research Methods in Education.
Instructional Design
I usually use these tools when I design instructional intervientions. In general, these advance organizers provide a detailed overview of
the aspects that need to be considered in each of the stages of the instructional design process.
Learning Strategies
Steps to be taken when designing the pedagogy in the Instructional Strategy stage are first to identify the the type of learning otucome
we are trying to convey and accordingly select an appropriate learning strategy. Selecting an appropriate learning strategy may result in the attainment of the learning goals.
E-Learning
The materials presented in this section deal with aspects that need to be considered when designing instructional materials for online learning.
These include advantages and disadvantages of online learning and how the technological aspects should be consider together with the instructional aspects.
Simulations
The materials presented in this section were developed while doing my preliminary exam. The goal of developing these tools was to organize the
literature in simulations for learning and be able to then synthesize the information in la coherent literature review and the design of an experiment addressing some of the gaps in
the literature.
