Instructional Designer Outreach Program

For the last year I have been volunteering as instructional designer at the Rosen Center of Advanced Computing at ITAP in the outreach educational efforts of nanoHUB.

  1. Identifying the most common misconceptions when teaching nanotechnology at a middle school level
  2. Identifying other science topics that are close related to nanotechnology and its underlying concepts which can provide an instructional framework
  3. Identifying instructional strategies that can address common misconceptions about nanotechnology
  4. Identifying the adequate curriculum related to nanoscience at a middle school level
  5. Developing instructional materials based on the identified curriculum
  6. Collaborating with the following organizations
    • Network for Computational Nanotechnology (NCN)
    • Birck Nanotechnology Center, Purdue University
    • NanoHUB.org
    • National Center for Learning and Teaching in Nanoscale Science and Engineering (NCLT)
    • Purdue Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council (NSAC)
    • NanoSense project at SRI International.
