Sound for Audio Post Production -
Deliverables
• Locked Picture
- Must be DV codec at full frame rate. (Motion JPEG-A is okay if file size is an
issue, but DV is preferred.)
- There must be a timecode window burn in the upper left corner.
- There must be a visual and audible 2-Pop exactly two seconds BEFORE the first
frame of picture
(FFOA) and another one exactly two seconds AFTER the end of the last frame of
picture (LFOA). The
pop should be one frame in length.
Most video editors will start the video playback (first frame
of action) at 1:00:00:00. This would mean
the 2-Pop should be placed at exactly 0:59:58:00.
- There should be an audio guide track for the movie in sync with the picture.
Dialog should be on the left
channel and any temp music and editor’s sound effects should be on the right
channel.
• OMF version 2 or AAF with embedded
audio.
- Usually tracks 1-4 are reserved for production audio with the rest of the
tracks being used for temp
music and editor’s sound effects.
- Handles should be at least 30 seconds in length.
- The audio region names must have the scene and shot info in them.
eg. 32B-4 for shot 32, B angle and take 4.
• Audio and Video EDLs in CMX3600
format. These can be sent as text files.
• The original recordings and their associated sound reports.
- Basically I need all of the original production sound and the paperwork
associated with it.
• A list of shooting dates for each scene.
• The lined script.
• A contact sheet if not already delivered.
On the final cut pro disc is a folder
with countdown leaders for PAL or NTSC...on these countdown
leaders there will be the 2-pop tone on one frame on the audio track.
And if you have any questions please
feel free to contact me about them.
Thank you,
