Art History Student Organization

The Purdue University Art History Student Organization's mission is simple: we strive to offer students as well as the community an institution where education and personal enjoyment combine to celebrate the arts.

AHSO is made up of students who are interested in art history; membership is not restricted to art history majors, in fact, we encourage students in any area to partcipate in our organization. The organization presents a film and video series, organizes trips to museums, galleries and lecture events, and brings guest speakers to the department for the benefit of students and faculty. Students are urged to participate in the student organizations because they provide an excellent opportunity to gain broadening experiences, including leadership positions.

"Don't miss an opportunity to go behind the scenes at IMA! The supervisor of art storage will be giving AHSO members an exclusive peak behind closed doors to see how a world-class museum stores its works when they are not on display. Following the private tour, access to the acclaimed Design Show will be an option. Also, the rest of the IMA's galleries in addition to the Oldfield's historic estate will also be available for viewing. After our stop at IMA, we will then finish off the day with a fabulous meal at Cheesecake Factory at the Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing. The details: we will leave from Pao Hall at 2:45 sharp on Friday, April 24 . Excuses for missed classes can be had from Prof. Dossin. Since we are carpooling, you must pay $5 to your driver when you sign-up for a space in their vehicle during the regular AHSO meeting on 4/15 . This will cover the cost of fuel. Everything at IMA is totally free so you only need to pay for dinner on the actual day of the trip. Don't pass on this wonderful opportunity to get exclusive access to art storage and a wonderful night out on the town!"
