Who am I, really?
To tell you the truth, the best answer to that question that I can give is: me.
But not to be too incredibly boring, here's a quick summary.
As stated on the front page, I am 19 years old and attend Purdue University, majoring in Aeronautical Engineering.
I have lived in two countries in four major time 'blocks', twice in Germany and twice in the United States (no my parents AREN'T in the military).
I was born in Nürnberg, Germany, and in addition to there, I have
lived in Raleigh, NC; Berlin, Germany; Sidney, OH; West Lafayette, IN
(where Purdue is); and Cincinnati, OH (where my co-op is).
Yes, I speak German, but not nearly as well as I used too. I can still understand and read it pretty well, though.
What do I look like?
Well, if you need a different picture than is elsewhere on the webpage, try this one. I don't think it's very good, but that's just me.
What do I like?
My tastes cast kind of a large net, partially because of my upbringing, I think.
Music: Queen is my favorite
group, I also love classical music (late Classical and Romantic eras,
plus almost anything fast that has trumpets in it), Classic Rock,
Oldies, world music, etc.
No rap, hip-hop, reggae, death metal, or country. [Note: there are exceptions to that rule]
Books: Just about anything, I
love to read. My favorite author, by far and away, is Terry Pratchett,
and I am a huge fan of his Discworld novels. I also read history (both
non-fiction and fiction), some fantasy, sports books (especially
baseball), funny books, sci-fi ...
Again, almost everything.
Except politics. I don't do politics.
Movies: Also a hard one, but my top 10, in no particular order, and counting trilogies as one are:
Das Boot (a German movie, and definitley #1 on this list)
Star Wars (Episodes III, IV, V and VI)
Lord of the Rings
A Beautiful Life (Italian)
The Usual Suspects
Notting Hill
Casablanca
... and three more I can't remember off the top of my head, but I remember when I watch them. : P
Food: Italian! Not just pizza, but lots of italian. I'm a big fan of food, so I'm not that picky about what I eat.
Soprts: Baseball. I am a HUGE baseball fan, and especially an Atlanta
Braves fan. I'm also a big soccer fan, especially German soccer.
To play: I'll play anything. I may suck at it, but I'll play it anyway.
To watch, baseball, soccer, football, plus random goodies like
Aussie-rules Football.
