TOUCHING LIVES, BUILDING FUTURES

Committees

Take a look at our different committees!

Volunteer and Fundraising Committee

imgTwo our committees include the volunteer and fundraising committee both of which have done a tremendous amount of work in the past. Some events that the volunteer committee has participated in include the Almost Home Humane Society where we helped clean up an animal shelter while offering much needed attention to the animals. We have also helped out with Transitional Housing, the campus blood drive, and assisted in an english proficiency program to name a few. Our fundraising committee has also aided many victims cope with flooding we experienced in the Tippecanoe area through their enduring efforts in raising money.

Health and Safety Committee

imgWe offer a special program to our community called Scrubby Bear. This class is taught to young children in schools and daycare's to heighten awareness of the importance of personal hygiene. The Scrubby Bear Program teaches youngsters how germs are spread and how washing their hands helps prevent the spread of germs. Children are taught how their bodies fight diseases, the importance of protecting their skin, and how to care for a minor cut or scrape. Not only does the program offer an exciting way for children to learn about personal hygiene, it instills valuable lessons early on in their lives.

Health and Safety Committee

CPRAnother aspect of the health and safety committee focused on organizing valuable courses to offer to the public.  We offer First Aid/CPR courses to adults of Purdue Campus and the surrounding areas.  We also successfully certified several students as instructors which has made it possible to offer larger classes.  This CPR course consisted of a lecture, demonstrations, and hands on experience.  Participants were able to become certified in CPR allowing them to be more aware of how to respond to emergency situations such as shock, cardiac emergencies, and other common life threatening situations.
