The 2003 (33rd) ISEP Annual Meeting
will be held Wednesday, October 22, through Sunday October 26, at the Embassy
Suites Seattle North/Lynwood Hotel, in Seattle, Washington, USA.

FOR PROPOSALS

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSALSSend one/two doubled-spaced (500 word limit) page(s) in the following format:Title of proposal; Objectives for the session; Summary of substantive content of the proposal, Plans for participants' involvement, Audio-visual components to be used in the presentation (Any proposal selected for presentation and not requesting the necessary audio-visual equipment will have to encumber personal financial responsibility for the use of such equipment at the time of presentation).
While the conference planners would like for interested persons to submit proposals addressing the Conference Theme, proposals are not limited to the "official" conference theme. Proposals on any aspect of planning that has implications for education will be considered. Participants may consider submitting proposals under any of the following categories:
Thematic Paper Sessions: These may include several individual paper presentations on the application of educational planning, position papers, description of existing initiatives or practices, or needed innovation in educational planning. Each individual presenter should anticipate no more than 20 minutes for presentation.
Roundtable/Panel Discussions: The leader of a small number of presenters (between 3-5) coordinates the preparation and presentation of ideas and questions related to the conference theme or other issues related to educational planning (50 minutes)
Symposium Thematic Sessions: This forum provides the opportunity for a session organizer to submit a proposal in which multiple presenters deliver a diverse range of viewpoints on a major issue or practice related to the theme or some aspect of educational planning (50 minutes).
Working Paper Sessions: Well-developed drafts of papers are sent to reviewers. In this session, an editor/reviewer will meet the author of the paper to provide suggestions/comments for use in writing the paper for presentation and/publication.

Registration Fee. The conference registration fee is US$ 250.00 (Canadian 350, Euro 215) prior to September 30, 2003. The full registration fee must be received by Sepember 30, 2003, in order for a presenter to be listed on the conference program. All presenters whose proposals are accepted must pay the full registration fee of US $250.00 (students & spouses US $125.00) even if they attend the conference only on the day of their presentation. Checks or money orders must be made out to ISEP, 2003 Conference Registration.
CONFERENCE ACCOMODATIONS
The Embassy Suites Hotel-North Lynwood is holding a limited number of rooms at the conference rate of US$89.00 single or double exclusive of all service and utility charges and taxes. Parking for conference registrants at the hotel is complimentary. All hotel reservations must be made directly with the hotel by calling 1-800-628-0611 and requesting the special rate for the ISEP CONFERENCE.
The conference rate is only available until September 15, 2003. Subject to availability, group rates will be offered four days pre and post the conference rates.
CONFERENCE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:
Conference attendees may select from a variety of transportation modes to the hotel from the SEA-TAC Airport. SHUTTLE EXPRESS operates a variety of services to and from the airport. including Share Ride, Scheduled Hotel Service, Private Town Car & Charter. The following is an example of the special one-way hotel rates for the Share Ride:

OUTSTANDING
DISSERTATION AWARDS
The International Society for Educational
Planning recognizes outstanding dissertations related to all aspects of
educational planning. The Society makes awards for dissertations that have
been completed within the last year that resulted in the award of a degree.
We encourage the submission of dissertations on any aspect of planning.
Dissertations that deal with planning on the international, state/provincial,
regional, local governance, and individual building level are welcomed.
Awards are made for each level of governance.
Individuals who are chosen for recognition will be asked to make a presentation of their findings at the annual meeting. In addition, these individuals will be asked to submit a manuscript to the Society’s journal, Educational Planning.
The chairperson of the dissertation committee or any member can recommend a dissertation for consideration. An unbound copy of the dissertation should be sent to facilitate distribution to the committee for a blind review. Complete identification including email address should accompany the dissertation. Deadline for submission is July 15, 2002. Individuals recognized will be notified no later than August 15, 2002.
