Bylaws

BYLAWS

Article 1: Quorum
Quorum shall be defined as fifty percent of the BMEGSA members present for all issues involving the BMEGSA constitution or bylaws. No quorum will be set for non-constitutional issues proposed at general BMEGSA meetings.
Article 2: Officer Removal
2.1 Any member of the BMEGSA may call for the removal of an officer.
2.2 Calls for removal of an officer should be made in writing to the President
2.3 Once an initial request has been made, a warning letter will be sent by the President to the officer in question
2.4 Upon second request, a second letter will be sent to the officer in question.
2.5 If the President is the officer to be removed, the requests should be submitted to the faculty advisor(s), and faculty advisor(s) will have the responsibility to give the warning notices to the President.
2.6 In the event that a third request is made, the President will ask the executive board to vote on the removal of said officer.
2.7 A three-fourths vote by the executive board will remove an officer.
Article 3: Vacancies
3.1 In the event of a vacancy in any of the executive board offices, the President will recommend a replacement.
3.2 In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the Vice President will assume the role of President and then recommend a new Vice President.
3.3 All persons filling vacancies will be confirmed by a majority vote of the executive board.
Article 4: Amendments
4.1 These bylaws will be amended in the same manner as amendments to the constitution as described in Article VI of the BMEGSA Constitution.
4.2 Bylaws will only be voted on once per semester.
4.3 Bylaws will be approved by a two-thirds vote of BMEGSA student body using the quorum defined above.
