Digitally Derived Sculptures   rpaul@purdue.edu

My Studio located in Delphi, IN

The fall of 1998 Purdue University provided me time away from teaching to tinker with ideas and techniques accumulated in my sketchbooks during the past years. During this time I set myself the task of making the translation from virtual computer object to real object faster and easier. The software I developed permits me to build objects directly from computer models. During this time I also discovered laser cutting from cad files and I have adapted my software to cut a variety of materials. I also developed a method of cutting scanned images onto structural parts.

Currently I am working on several projects which include virtual sculptural installations and interactive pieces.
