Oblique Delusions. Exhibited at the Cultural Center, Chicago. 1986. Gatorfoam, cloth, and wood. Originally I wanted to make a work for Chicago which recognized the rich architectural history of the city while avoiding architectonic forms. I selected the Trojan horse for this purpose. This horse is both sculpture and architecture. My horse is resting on its side with its head on the floor of a temple-like structure. The interior of the horse includes a cot on a floor of ships planking. The orientation of the horse within the room and its relationship to toher objects depicted within the sculpture provide a multitude of layer meanings.
