Star Chart-Louisville. The Water Tower Arts Association, Louisville. 1986. Gatorfoam, cloth, and wood. Like most of my works, this sculpture is an interpretation of the exhibition site and its history. The Water Tower Arts Association is housed in the old pumping station on the Ohio River near downtown Louisville. The past function of this structure and previous exhibitions dealing with fire and earth were the inspirations for this work. The two primary forms float visually on a 24' diameter reflective pool of water which includes the star chart for the site the night of the exhibition's opening.
