Vessel at Rest. Exhibited at the University of Nebraska, Omaha and Art Link, Fort Wayne, Indiana. 1994. 24' x 12' high. Wood and cloth. This work was the first piece inspired by my transatlantic crossing on a small sailboat. It is also the first and only work I have constructed from wood. It was conceived to be site-specific with the architecture of two exhibition spaces in mind. The vessel refers to a boat and a child's top. Like many of my past works, it provides the viewer a beckoning interior which is inaccessible.
