  • Oct. 2020: Chun-Li Lo's paper "Replacing TaN/Ta Bilayer with 2D Layered TaS2 Converted from Ta for Interconnects at Sub-5 nm Technology Nodes" has been awarded the Best Student Paper Award at the 2020 International Interconnect Technology Conference (IITC).

  • April 2019: Punyashloka Debashis won the 2nd place in the 3MT(R) competition. This competition is a celebration of the discoveries made by graduate students and will allow the broader community to learn about ongoing research at Purdue. This is a fast-paced competition where the top 10 finalists compete by summarizing their two to three-plus years of research in only three minutes with only one slide. Each 3MT(R) presentation is judged based on communication style, comprehension, and engagement.

  • June 2018: Chun-Li Lo's paper "BEOL Compatible Sub-nm Diffusion Barrier for Advanced Cu Interconnects" has been chosen as one of the two winners of Best Student Paper Award for the 2018 VLSI-TSA.

  • Jan. 2018: Prof. Chen becomes the Director of the NEW LIMITS Center. It is a three-year project supported by $4.5 million from a collaboration between the Semiconductor Research Corp. (SRC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).Purdue is working on the project with researchers from Pennsylvania State University, the University of Michigan, the University of Texas at Dallas and Stanford University.

  • Dec. 2017: Chun-Li Lo's paper "On the Potential of 2D Layered Materials as Diffusion Barriers for Cu Interconnect Technology" has been selected by SEMI, the global microelectronics industry association, to be recognized at the SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium in Jan. 2018.

  • Sept. 2017: Chun-Li Lo's paper "On the Potential of 2D Layered Materials as Diffusion Barriers for Cu Interconnect Technology" won the Best in Session Award in TECHON 2017.

  • April 2017: Prof. Chen has been named a University Faculty Scholar.

  • July 2016: Chun-Li Lo won the first place prize in the poster contest of the Microelectronics Integrity Meeting.

  • May 2016: Chun-Li Lo is the recipient of 2016 Studying Abroad Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan.

  • Oct. 2015: Dr. Christopher Benjamin joined the Chen lab as a postdoc and is awarded the Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

  • Aug. 2015: Yi-Tse (Terry) Hung won the NRI-INDEX Poster Award .

  • Dec. 2014: Prof. Chen is a recipient of the Seed for Success Award.

  • Dec. 2013: Prof. Chen is a recipient of the Seed for Success Award.

  • Nov. 2013: Prof. Chen is a recipient of the Joel and Ruth Spira Excellence in Teaching Award.

  • Aug. 2012: Prof. Chen is a recipient of the 2012 Intel Early Career Faculty Honor Program award. Intel supports 20 faculty members worldwide who show great promise as academic leaders in groundbreaking computer technologies. The winners this year are from 11 U.S. and 9 European universities, including UC Berkeley, MIT and Cornell.
