I hope you all enjoyed your spring break!! Now that we’re back in the real world (bleh!) we’ve got lots of fun ways to serve our community coming up over the next few weeks! So break out your mortar boards and get ready for the homestretch before finals!!
Club Meeting: Join us this Tuesday at 6:30pm in Lawson B151 for our club meeting! This is a great way to stay up to date and get to know fellow Circle K members! This is a great meeting to come to if you are interested in hearing about the upcoming international convention, and to pick up your quarter zips if you haven’t yet! There are leadership opportunities for the international convention and the district so if you are looking to build your resume make sure to come to our meeting!
Red Mango Fundraiser: Treat yourself to some frozen yogurt from Red Mango anytime this Tuesday, March 24th! Be sure to mention Purdue Circle K because our club will receive 20% of the profits of the sales that mention our club! Bring your friends, they don’t have to be members! These funds go towards club socials and projects such as the Eliminate Project and Do Random Acts of Kindness Events.
Cheesy Joke Booth: This Wednesday from 11:30am-1:30pm outside Wetherill, join our DoRAK (Do Random Acts of Kindness) Committee in, as our chair Sam Freedlund puts it, giving people “bad puns, cheesy jokes, and all manner of groaning chuckles” to help brighten their day! If you’re interested in helping out, be sure to sign up on our club sign ups!
District Large Scale Service Project: Meet us this Sunday outside Schleman at 8:30am for a day of service and learning with Circle K clubs from around the district! We will begin the day with park clean up at Sahm Park down in Indianapolis, and then we will head over to Riley Hospital for Children where we will receive a tour of the hospital and then make neck pillows for the patient’s families! Be sure to sign up *Here!* AND on our club sign ups by midnight this Wednesday, March 25th!
Book of Life: Join us for pop and popcorn as we watch the Book of Life! This is a fun way to get to know other members and wind down from the week! Meet us this Friday at 8pm in WTHR 200!

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast: Every year, Lafayette Kiwanis Club has their annual pancake breakfast fundraiser! The funds raised at this event help Kiwanis make a difference in the community throughout the year, their money goes to places like Riley Hospital for Children, and their two new projects, the Kiwanis Education Station at Columbia Park Zoo and Kiwanis Toddler Playground in West Lafayette's Cumberland Park! Join them on Saturday, April 25th from 9am-11:30am to help distribute pancakes and talk with guests. Did I mention you don’t actually start volunteering until 9:45am? That’s because they’ll give you free pancakes!!! Sign up on our club sign ups ASAP because there are only 6 slots available!
Fun Fact: The spring equinox marks that moment when the sun crosses the celestial equator going from south to north. The event signals the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. In 2015, spring begins on March 20. It’s finally spring!!
See you at a service project!
