This morning we left Scotch Corner and drove to Sherwood Forest. There's not so much forest as expected, but there are some really nice old trees and it makes for a good walk. We walked on the marked trails and went for quite a ways. There is an old tree called the Major Oak and is extremely old. We walked on another path to the south and came to the end of the forest. There was a mini-amusement park with concessions. We turned around and walked back to the tourist center at Sherwood Forest. There are a few interesting exhibits there, including a life-size carving of Robin and Little John in combat.
We then drove to Stratford-on-Avon and walked around the town. A lot of great half-timbered buildings and a nice park. We stopped at McDonalds for lunch.
