Mica Gould and Amanda Kaufman have a forthcoming article, "Surviving HEL: Making History of the English Language Applicable" in Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Teaching.

Rebecca Goldenberg was published in-house in October with the Purdue University Galleries, Spirit Made Tangible: The Scheuring Icon Collection (West Lafayette, Indiana, 2006). She contributed some 27 catalogue entries.

Richard Sévère presented a paper titled "Re-establishing 'Normativity' through Queerness: Heteronomativity Challenged in Malory's Mort D'Arthur" at the Voices Across Borders conference at Stony Brook University (Manhattan Campus) in February.

Alex Kaufman presented a paper titled "Jack Cade’s Rebellion of 1450 and the London Midsummer Watch" at the Thirtieth Annual Mid-America Medieval Association Conference at Emporia University in February.

Emma Gomez presented a paper titled "The Jeweler, the Maiden, and Christ: Spiritual Consolation and Devotion in Pearl" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Mica Gould participated in the Malory Read Aloud of "The Tale of Sir Gareth" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Mica Gould presented a paper titled "Defining the 'Trew Knight:' the Ywain and Gawain Misericords" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Alex Kaufman presented a paper titled "Teaching Medieval Outlaw Tales" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Emily Redman presented a paper titled "Pathos in Oral Formulaic Performance: Appositive Listing in Anglo Saxon Poetry" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Joy Santee presented a paper titled "Geographic Economy and the Giant of Gene in the Alliterative Morte Arthure" at the 41st International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in May.

Frank Tobienne presented a paper titled "The Imitation of the Cellular and Violence toward the Neighbor" at the Colloquium on Violence and Religion at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada in June. Frank reports: "This will be moderated by our very own Dr. Ann Astell under the panel name Creative Mimesis: Meme-tic Options. I received a sponsorship by Professor Sandor Goodhart and was awarded a travel grant to attend the conference."

Alex Kaufman presented a paper titled "The Potter and the Charcoal Disguise in the Medieval Outlaw Tradition" at the Fifth Biennial International Conference of the International Association of Robin Hood Studies at the University of Delaware in September/October.

Frank Tobienne presented a paper titled "Girardian Dynamism & Mimetic Violence: As Applied to 'The Battle of Maldon'" at the November 2006 SAMLA conference.

David O'Neil presented a paper titled "Greek and Old English Meter" at the November 2006 SAMLA conference.

Alex Kaufman received the Peter C. Braeger graduate award in the 75th Annual Literary Awards Competition at Purdue University for his essay titled "Jack Cade, The Midsummer Watch, and the Carnivalesque Procession."

Karen Robinson received an honorable mention for the Peter C. Braeger graduate award in the 75th Annual Literary Awards Competition at Purdue University for her essay titled "The King as Conqueror or Protector: The Alliterative Morte Arthure as a Mirror for Princes."

Erin Sweany received a Certificate of Excellence in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Ben Reinhard for being accepted into Notre Dame's Medieval Institute for graduate study, which he will be starting this fall. Congratulations, Ben!

Erin Sweany for being accepted into the English MA program (with a continuation in the PhD program) at IU, which she will be starting this fall. Erin has received a fellowship which will cover tuition and living expenses for the first year. Congratulations, Erin!

Kristin Leaman for being accepted into the English M.A. program at Purdue. We get to keep her for another two years! Congratulations, Kristin!

Frank Tobienne for being accepted into the Summer Program at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University for July 2006. The program involves: Medieval apologetics and a visit to C.S. Lewis' home and discussion of his medieval works. Congratulations, Frank!
