Ministries
Cornerstone is proud to support several different ministries. Some are operative while others are driven towards building Christ-like relationships. Feel free to click and find out about each ministry and their passions.
Missions
Our theme for this year comes from Matthew 4:19 - "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Our mission statement is simply to love Jesus Christ and to share His love with others. Every summer for 10 days we travel to a country overseas to serve the people there and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a variety of programs that'll aid in our service and sharing of the Gospel such as street evangelism, vacation bible school, medical aid, construction, skits, songs, body worship and much more. It is our prayer and ultimate goal that through these activities we'll be able to build strong relationships with the people we are serving, effectively share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have people come to know Him in a personal and intimate way.
Furthermore, we want to help the people establish a Christ-centered way of life after their acceptance of Jesus Christ. Our focus is also not only overseas but on campus as well. Part of our training includes street evangelism every Friday where we get together and go out into the Purdue campus and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people that we randomly meet. We also meet every Saturday morning where many different aspects of missions is covered: learning about the culture and language, religious status, geography, praying as a team, practicing our skits and songs, etc. Above all else, we strongly believe that a personal and intimate relationship with God through daily reading of the Bible and quality time in prayer is key and crucial in becoming effective missionaries. Nothing is placed above those things. Ultimately, our vision is to one day have no mission team because the church itself will be the mission team.

Welcoming
A smile, hand shake or a word of welcoming has touched millions.
It is true that a simple gesture of kindness or care can go a LONG LONG way, and become a lasting impression and can be a seed to something GREAT. Welcoming Ministry is an essential part of the body of Christ, what we do or how our actions are portrayed can tip the scale of a person accepting Christ or turning away from Him. Of course every ministry is very important in that matter and none should be left out or set aside, however welcoming ministry is probably, for most of us, the first encounter of who we are (Christians). The Lord said, several times in the Bible, “Love your neighbor as yourself”, this is what we strive for to show Love to everyone who wishes to enter the house of the Lord, by greeting them with a warm welcome. In the past there were terrible stories of churches turning away people because they were different or believed to be un-chosen, for example Gandhi, we hope to never turn away anyone who wants to learn about Him ever again.
Some of things we do in this ministry is of course welcome people to church or any other events done by this church and fellowship. We also come and set up the chairs and tables for lunch, that is after the Sunday service.
Worship
God is amazing, isn’t He? Just look around. It’s impossible to deny the perfection of His works. Just think that this same God created us, loved us, died for us. David was a man who understood who God is. Through everything, he never forgot what God had done, was doing, and what He will do. What was David’s response? How did he express himself in the presence of the Creator? He wanted to exalt God so much! He praised God with all his might, so much so that he seemed utterly foolish in other’s eyes. What is our response to the holy, powerful, living God? Let’s “celebrate before the Lord!” Let’s make our praises LOUD for God! Let’s worship Him with a consuming passion so that all may declare that God is real and powerful!

Sports
Sports has always been a great way of fellowship at Cornerstone. Be it simple Friday nights at the CoRec playing basketball or football games on Saturday. Not only does engaging in team sports serve as great fellowship, playing on the same team strengthens our bonds as brothers and sisters in Christ. The Bible teaches us togetherness, self image, faithfulness, trust, control of anger, and so many different things that can be applied to the very sports we play. If we can be competitive and eager to win in sports, why can't we be competitive and eager to win the the bigger "prize". This ministry aims at tapping into that the same competitiveness and eagerness to win and making us "run that race" even harder.

Men
To be like William Wallace! Gladius Maximus! Even... Ninja Turtles! This day in age, the idea of "men" has been emasculated and our fellas are lost in the counterfeits of this world! What does it mean to be true men that GOD Himself had in mind when He first created Adam? Where are our battles to fight??? Our adventures to live??? How do we rescue our beauty??? Men's ministry is nothing formal... just a band of brothers seeking to not only find BUT develop the true masculinity that God has already bestowed in us but somewhere along the line, we lost! We're here to reclaim it! We're here to fight with AND for each other.
To bleed together!
To become true MEN of Jesus Christ!
And above all else, to develop the foundation of intimacy with our Father (who is the BEST role model of true manhood) through adamant commitment to the Bible and merciless perseverance in prayer!
