Christ has risen, Alleluia! Greetings all and happy Easter.
We will be meeting this Friday (4/17) in Stewart 320 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM.
As we enter into this Easter season, in which we celebrate Christ rising from the dead and attempt to bring Christ's light into the world through our own lives. It seems appropriate to come together and discuss what our role as Catholics is in this world of increasing secularization.
Therefore, we will be discussing Catholics in the public forum looking at controversial issues facing the Church today, such as the Notre Dame "scandal" and the position taken by prominent Catholic politicians, looking at the worldwide treatment of religion. As mentioned, we will look into how we ought to witness to our faith in this world. Come ready to discuss.
Perhaps, reflect on the following beforehand:
-Is it the role of government to legislate morality?
-What part of our own faith should remain in the private sphere, and what in the public?
-How should we enter into dialog with those who disagree with our faith?
In the glory of our resurrected Lord,
Bernie and David
