The Adler Planetarium is a prominant structure on the lakefront of Chicago. When it was finished in 1930, the Alder Planetarium became the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. The planetarium's goal is to teach the public about the universe. Inside Adler, there are exibits, scientific instuments, and two planetarium theaters. The theaters show a clear veiw of the night sky. The oldest planetarium theater is inside the dome feature. With a trip to the Adler Planetarium, a visitor will not only learn new things, they will also experience the beauty of the lakefront. Walking between the city structures and the lake provides two great views.
