Ultimate Game Gear Page

Well, for all of you loyal viewers who visit my site regularly, you probably noticed a big change when you visited my site just now. That's right, the page has gotten it's first major graphical overhaul in at least a year and a half. This is actually the second major graphical overhaul the site has undergone, although most of you probably won't remember the first one, seeing as how the page used to be housed on an angelfire site that nobody knew about.

Now, while you might be sitting there thinking, "What major graphical overhaul...this site still has the same crappy color scheme it did when I visited last week," you must trust me when I say this was a big change. I've widened the bar so as to not cramp the page links, and rounded out the header graphic. I got rid of that god-awful header image with the fading effect I was so proud of at one point, as well as the ugly links I used to have. I kept the colors because I like them and I don't care what anyone else says about them. (I did change the green slightly so it would be a web-safe color, but that's it.)

You might also notice that while the page looks a lot better now, it still is deplete of any flashy graphics. The fanciest thing I have right now is the menu system, and even that is composed of flat colors. As I've always said, I want this site to be more about content than eye-catching graphics, and even this new site adheres to these standards. (Yes I know, I don't add in new content like I should...but blame high school and college, not me.) What I did do was completely overhaul the site's coding. There are no frames or table layouts; just about everything is done using CSS. This is something you wouldn't notice unless you viewed the source, which I doubt many people do when visiting a website.

The only question that's really left is just what inspired me to do this. Was it out of the goodness of my heart, so that you wouldn't have to stare at that god-awful webpage anymore? Well not really. See, I'm taking a web page design course in college, and for our projects we have to create web pages, and there are certain standards we must follow. For my first project I designed a webpage for a guild I created for the game Gunbound. For the second project I decided to be lazy and just redo my personal website, since it needed it anyway. So you can thank college for easing the strain on your eyes. (You can also thank college for the complete lack of updates to this site...but oh well.)

On a side note, I've also fixed the 1000's of typing errors that used to be found throughout the site. Man, they made this page look like it was created by a 10-year old. Shame on me. (Ok I will have fixed all the spelling errors, but not all of the grammatical errors quite yet...I'll get around to that eventually).

That's really all I have to say. All there is left to do is enjoy the new Ultimate Game Gear Page in all it's entirety. Maybe one day I'll even start adding stuff about the game gear again...but you know how that goes.

Oh, and just so that you can appreciate what I've done to the site, here are 2 examples of how the site used to look. YES there are dead links on these pages so don't cry to me when they don't work, I'm just putting them up for reference.
