welcome, once again, to my exciting life.. or something like that...
For those who haven't seen it, part of the ALBUM is now up and running. View, save, and print photos from it free of charge.
Let's see... let's see.. where did I leave off last time? Oh ya... KELLY CLARKSON! She came to the grand campus of Purdue University to rock it out in Elliot Hall. A few of my boys here at the dorm and I went. Third row of the balcony = not bad seats. If I were on the ground.. i doubt that I could see anything lol. She did an awesome job of performing. This was my first concert experience, and i have to say that it was pretty cool.
I had an induction ceremony for NSCS on Saturday. I got all dressed up and spiffy. As I was walking, though, to the Stewart Center (a 15 minute walk) it began to rain.. of course. And, wouldn't you know it, I didn't have an umbrella with me. So, when I finally finished my jog to the Stewart Center, I was soaked and then... it stops raining. Just my luck... I was, however, lucky that i arrived early enough to dry off in time for the ceremony... which was almost an hour long... how boring...
Sunday, PESC threw a free picnic for people living in the dorms. We had a huge turn-out this year, with at least 300 people grabbing applications. (this semester we're only taking in 3 new members.) I can believe how much free food we gave away though lol.
This week of classes has been uneventful. My "sophomore engineering seminar" class (the dumb intro class) gave me a chance to write my FIRST essay in college (not including speeches). We were given a writing prompt and we had to write an essay over it in 30 mintues. Those who don't pass are given tutoring or something. It just seemed so weird for something like that to happen in an engineering course, but I guess everyone needs to learn how to express their ideas on paper, no matter what field they are in...
Long weekend lies ahead.. enjoy it while it lasts!

Your coolest friend--> Thanks for your help today on my pictures. You're awesome. By the way-Kenny Chesney definitely blows Kelly Clarkston out of the water! Everyone needs to know how to write well--even engineers.
http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~tdemarr
Kyle--> since my name had already been taken... lol... I'm still floored by the fact that you never wrote a single essay last year! I had to write like 20 in the last week before dead week... Have a good one, man!
I am Erics coolest friend--> Funny story: I made Stacey do go to your website to get the the ESPN link to vote for Pete and she was the first person to vote for your new poll and she doesn't even know you... she was embarrassed. Okay... so it was kind of lame, but she voted.
bonjour, c'est moi--> update??? haha, like i can talk...

Watched--> Ladies Man - A.. "eh" kind of movie
Read--> Linear Circuit Analysis - The book of the rest of my life
Installed--> Matlab - Ya, that program... (MATrix LABoratories)
Saw--> Project: Picture Share - My share of pics are on the way!
Sorry for my bitter mood last time.. thanks for the encouraging comments. Life is goin well right now.. and, unfortunately, I haven't been able to share much about it to anyone, so I will unload it all right here.
First off, I am so excited. I figured out how to map my ITAP/ICS harddrive to my computer. This means I can access my Purdue stuff from the comfort of my dorm room, meaning I'll be able to update faster. Plus, I have access to all of my Purdue files right at my fingertips. This made me so happy for no apparent reason, which you probably don't care about, but it made me happy. Anyway...
Classes have started and are going well.. or as well as they could be right now. I don't feel as "loaded" with classes as I did last year, partially b/c I'm only taking the recommended 15 credit hours, and partially b/c, well, it's the first week of school. A few of them are going to be tough... physics, EE 201, EE 207, Linear Alegbra. But, it's not going to be terrible hopefully.
Today, I went on a roundtrip around campus pretty much - by foot. I went to Ross-Ade to pick up my football ticket vouchers. Ya football! I went to Follett's for the fourth time in less than a week to pick up, yet another notebook (this time a lab notebook). I have spent over $600 on school stuff this semester.. crazy. I then walked all the way to the BoilerCopyMat in the Union. I bought my Electrical Engineering "Kit" I guess. It has a small circuit board and resistors and capacitators.. It's SOOO Freakin' Cool. I can't wait to build something and design something. I dunno.. It got me all excited for lab and I'm actually looking forward to lab so I can learn to build and design something. I'm finally thinking that I'm in the right major, and that's got me all excited.
I had an interview with PESC (Purdue Engineering Student Council) today. Took like 5 minutes lol. I made it back on the council.. woohoo! I'm in charge of my own event coming this fall (November 16 for those keeping score at home). It's going to take a lot of work and planning for me to pull off, but I'm excited. PESC runs the Industrial Roundtable, and for those Frosh or people who don't know, it's the nation's largest job fair of its kind. Over 250 different companies will cram into the Memorial Mall this September 20-21 for interviews for jobs and internships. It's really quite something!
EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) is my "service learning class." We're building a display to put into the Imagination Station. The team I'm on is building a replica of a hydroelectric power plant, so kids can like pull a crank and watch the water flow and turn stuff into electricity. There's a lot of work to do, and I'm not sure exactly what's goin on, but it'll be neat to work on.
I had lunch with Andrea and Tracie at the Boiler Market today. We had a good time.. I've got the Picture CD right now, and I'll add my share to the CD, as well as posting them HERE by this Weekend!
Kelly Clarkson, NSCS Inductions, EPICS trip, and the PESC picnic all are in line this weekend. Life is going well. Thanks for reading and caring.

Kyle--> Did I already post a comment on this one? I thought maybe I have, but I can't remember... if not, um... here's one...You rock!
SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE!--> I totally cared about you figuring out the whole ITAP thing and you tried to get me to figure it out, but I can't because I'm slow. But I did care. Just because I didn't understand didn't mean that I didn't care. You have to show me how to do it. Okay...rant ends...I'm glad you're so excited about your classes and such. End comment. Wait... Kyle is a dork

Watched--> Hero - One of the coolest movies ever
Did--> Moved to Wiley Hall - Not even close to being unpacked...
So, it's 2:30 in the morning and I can't sleep. One, it's way too freakin' hot in here. Two, it just stormed. Three, I have a lot on my mind. So, let's use this blog to clear my thoughts so I can sleep.
For those of you who don't know already, at the moment I am vehicle-less. On the way to the State Fair Wednesday, it went out on me. The mechanics don't exactly know what happened, but there are a lot of problems with it. They mentioned about every part under the hood. We're goin to try to get it fixed, but how successful and how long it will take, is not yet known.
I've gotten to see a lot of my friends this week. Went to spend the night at Kyle's not too long ago.. it's been a long time since we've gotten to hang out just the two of us. I've had dinner at several places and hung out in a few basements. It's just depressing summer's over.
It's been a long day, so I don't know why I can't sleep. Jordan and I started to move in this morning around 8:30. We got the loft put up by ourselves and I put all of my crap inside of the room. Our friend, Matt, rode his bike a few miles to come help us set up our room. Thanks so much, man! Went out to dinner, had a car adventure with Tracie (she'll explain) and came back. I really didn't have the motivation to unpack at all. I set up my computer and unpacked some clothes, but that's about it. I still have 4 boxes to put away. I feel lazy, but I was literally dripping sweat in here - so much sweat, that I had to go buy a Sprite to hydrate myself. (And that says something b/c who knows the last time I've had a carbonated beverage...)
And that brings us here. To be sitting at this computer at now 2:35 in the morning. No one's here. All of my friends move in tomorrow, but it's just going to be weird. Two different worlds colliding and I have to adjust to it already in the matter of a couple of days. I mean, I really wanted to move into Wiley.. see my friends.. get a routine. But, I dunno.. school's around the corner. How are we expected to adapt so quickly?
I'm scared of my classes. I don't know the slightest thing about electricity, but for some reason, I want to be an electrical engineer? I only have 15 credit hours, but i have 7 different classes. Two classes worth one credit, and one worth zero credits. It scares me. I've never had the thought of "what if I don't like engineering?" What am I going to do if I absolutely hate this semester? I know.. I know.. I can't be thinking that until I take some of these classes and go through the semester.. but that question of "what if" still lies in the back of my mind.
While I'm moving in here, people are moving away... I have a fear of drifting apart from some of them. Ever since the "incident?" last year, I realized how drastically a relationship with a friend can change and that always scares me.
My computer is acting extremely slow and keeps freezing on me. Since it hasn't been connected to the Internet all summer, it's installing all of these updates. Yes, I want the latest protection, but seriously.. do all 50 programs have to update right now? Geesh...
Yes, it appears I'm not in a good mood right now. Probably true - haven't been all day really. Maybe b/c I'm so freakin tired.. but can't sleep. I haven't had one of these nights in a long time. But, I have nothing really else to say right now... So, maybe I should try goin to bed again. Good luck to everyone in their first semesters. I'll hopefully be in a better mood next update.

Ticketing Tracie--> You'd better be in a better mood next time because this time you almost made me cry. (Tracie shakes fist at you). Try not to worry about classes so much, it'll wear you down yeester. If you don't like it change... that's the great thing about college. If you don't like what your doing, you can change. And I'll always be here for you, especially to make fun of you and to get pulled over in a drive-thru while you're in my JEEP. We've known each other since before kindergarten-so for the past like 15 years-I think that shows that I won't go anywhere, even if you tried to get rid of me. So there- perk up and think of the mud or the butt face po-po :)
Andrea-- Eric, that's tough. I know what you're going through. We're all going through the same thing. Lots of people have before us too. I'm pretty sure we'll be ok unless a giant meteor hits the earth and then we'd all be dead. I wouldn't worry about that tho. hehe Later // Thanks for visiting me at work even though we were too busy to talk. sadness..
Krazy Kyle (that's not too good...sorry)--> hey, man. Don't stress out, ok? Everything's gonna be ok. Your dorm room is already better than it was when you updated, so you dont have to worry about that anymore! If you dont like the whole electrical engineering thing, there's lots of other types of engineering you could do. And if that's just not for you, you have the freedom to change your major! Try it out, if you dont like it, then just change. It sucks that we're all moving away and such, but that just means that when we do see each other, it'll be just that much better. And we made it through one year already and didn't drift apart, so I'm sure we'll all stick together again through this year! Hang in there, bud!
Tracie--> Get a new question of the week!
Tangy Tisha... clever?--> Eric, you will be fine. I will always be your friend. I'm just a ring away. You will be great at whatever you do... picking what you want to do for the rest of your life is of freaking scary... Don't stress out. You're wonderful

Sup, home dawgs? All of us are drawing awfully close to the start of school (some closer than others...) So, I've been trying to enjoy every last minute of summer as I can...
Been teaching all private lessons 6 days a week. Hopefully most of these people will keep taking lessons from me during the school year and into the winter. We shall see, though.
Saturday, I went to a birthday breakfast for our birthday babe, Tracie. (Like all of the alliteration there, Trace?) I, unfortunately had a lesson at 11, so I couldn't stay too long. Mrs. Speakman is one fine cook, though. I think that's the first time I've had her cooking all summer long. Geesh, Kyle.. I need to invite myself over more!
My lesson went rather quick. Getting out of there was another story. All of the incoming Frosh were moving in for the Boiler Gold Rush. So, to avoid the BGR traffic, I found a parking spot and went to a computer lab to fix up the site a little. (I added a Calendar of Events on the MAIN page towards the bottom - if you want something added, just let me know). A new feature called "the album" will be available soon, with a bunch of pictures and stuff.
That evening, Trace, Tisha, Andrea, Me, and lastly Kyle, all went to Pizz Express for a pizza. That place was very good! Looks like some of us Purdue folk have a new hangout. Tracie invited us to swimming in the Tippe River, so we ventured out past Battleground to her cousin's house. The water was warm and not terribly dirty. Well, that was until we started flinging mud. Kyle rubbed a huge glob into my hair. I walked around with rocks falling out of my hair the rest of the day. I'll get him back... Tracie had to help me wash it all off with ice-cold water. Had a sing-a-thon in the JEEP on the way back. I know I'm around people who like me b/c they didn't yell at me to stop singing lol. Went over to Andrea's house where we had to watch Grease. Ah.. what a good time.
Went school supplies shopping with my Mom and Sister today. Went to Wal*mart where everything was like.. gone. I could only find two folders there that hadn't been taken. So, off to Tar-zjay, where I ran into four or five McCutcheon folk. I bought some food and stuff for the dorm, and it made me realize how excited I am to go back to Wiley Hall. I wish I could just live there at Purdue and not have to go to classes or anything.. I know, I ask for too much.. oh well...
Next week is my last week off, so let's get together! Thanks for a great summer already guys!

Mr. Kyle R. Speakman, III--> lol, you definitely had all that mud coming to ya! You just had to keep provoking me more and more, huh? Haha, good times... and yes, that water was freezing cold! What a wonderful night, though...

I'M BACK!!! I hope you didn't miss me too much, though I know you did, so oh well...
My fam and I just got back from vacation for those of you that don't know. A recap of some stories and pics will be availabe in the STEW very soon.
Coming back from vacation means two things - unpacking and cleaning, and, uh, neither are at all that fun. I had to go over the lawn twice to get it cut all of the way. Our dog stayed at home and our neighbors took care of him, and, boy, there was dog hair ALL OVER like you wouldn't believe. Pretty disgusting. But, that's all cleaned up now.
Parks Deparment stuff is over, so I'm just teaching lessons now. I've actually got quite a few people signed up, so that's cool. Makes me feel like I'm a good teacher if they're coming back for more lol.
School year's coming up. I'm kinda excited, but kinda dreading it at the same time. I move in on Friday the 19th. Jordan and I are rooming together again. That should be cool. School starts on Monday the 22nd, so I'll a nice weekend of free time to spend with the guys in the dorm. The school year should be just that - hanging out in the dorms, not worrying about classes and such. I went to Wal*mart to buy my Mortar Board (or Maveranda as I call it sometimes lol) and they didn't have any. I was mad. I need one! Eric Can't survive without a planner! Gr... oh well
I meant to say this in the last post, but I forgot. Congrats to NASA for getting the space program back off of the ground. I believe it to be important to explore our surroundings and crap out there lol. Does anyone from Wainwright remember the Vomit Comet team? Ya.. I was a dork that was on there, but it was so cool. We even got national recognition from ABC's Good Morning America. Of course, Adam was the only one featured, which irked all of us off, but oh well...
One last thing that I meant to say last time was this little story. I teach these two girls, I'm not sure how old. But one of them talked like, a, like, Valley, like, girl. The younger one wanted to act like her. So she tried to say the word "like" a lot. Except it came out something like this... "I like my sister. I like my shoes. I like frogs." She didn't, like grasp, like the concept... I thought it was funny at least.. oh well..
Come Join me and PESC at the Indiana State Fair for Purdue Day (Wednesday the 17th). I'll be there from 10-1, so stop by the PESC tent if you're there!
Signing off...
The World will miss you, Peter.
<--EDIT-->
So, I thought I'd update with my wild, crazy day of driving all over the city of Lafayette. The day starts with Eric waking up early and driving to Happy Hollow Elmentary to teach at lesson at 8:30. Running on fumes, I make it to the Supertest Gas Station at 350 South and fill up half a tank. I teach another lesson at 10:00 in the Commons Neighborhood (accross from WAZY). Then, I drive back over to the West side b/c I have to stop at Purdue. Being the only PESC memeber in town, I've been doing gopher work for everyone else. Lucky me... I needed to drop off envelopes, leaderheads, booklets, and other crap to Purdue Printing Services. Well, I was supposed to have a meeting with Bruce at Noon, but uh, he stepped out to lunch at 11:55. I was told that he'd take a 30 minute lunch. Well, 30 = 60 apparently, so I waited an hour for him. Eric = not happy. We get the order placed, and we find out that the booklets don't fit into the envelopes. So, Eric must run back to the PESC office and drop those back off. I come home and finally get to eat lunch at 2:30. I leave at 4:30 for my next lesson, which, of course, is on the West side of town. I get there and my student is all dressed up in business attire, so I was confused. Turns out that he had a last minute meeting/dinner thing get scheduled and he'd have to cancel. He offered to pay me for the lesson, but I refused. It seems like a long day but maybe b/c I drove half of it to the West Sdie and back... I need gas already again. How sad is that?

It's like totally like Tracie--> Eric, I'm hurt that you would make fun of people that use the word like. I use the word like, but it's a filler. For instance, some people use "umm.." or "uhh.." but I use like to fill the gaps where I'm trying to find the words. I remember the vomit comet team and I had my mom tape the ABC thing because it was exciting at the time. "I work at NASA" (said in a very nasaly voice)
kyle--> hey, man, welcome back. coming back from vacation is never fun... yuck... It sucks that summer is almost gone! :-( We'll have to all hang out and live up this next week... no more work for me! woohooo!
