The STORY OF THE WEEK
(The STEW)
is some long, dumb story involving some short dumb guy...

Monday, July 11th, 2005 ~ 11:54 PM

Well, this won't be funny, amusing, or dumb as the other stories.. so sorry to let you down. (actually, it's probably dumb, so I dunno why i'm even typing this.. oh well).

Colorado... The place of my birth.. and the place where my best friend's (Mr. Kyle Speakman) aunt/uncle will be moving to shortly. So, before they moved, they had invited me over to their house, so naturally, I accepted and went.

Kyle lets me know 9 hours in advance when we were leaving from his house, but that's typical of him ;)

I meet all the lovely Speakman's at their home at 9:30 Friday morning. Mrs. Speakman made bacon, egg, Mcmuffin things (very good by the way). and we waited... and waited... and waited for his sitsters to pack and get ready. (I know where kyle gets it from now)

The drive to Indy was uneventful except for the constant singing and dancing of Courtney and Ratine to Fall Out Boy and other bands, whose CD's we listened to over and over were too numerous to count.

Kyle's nice aunt came out to greet us as we pulled into the driveway of their lovely home. She made us a delicious lunch, which we chowed down on really fast. Desert (or is it dessert? i always forget..) was great.. yogurt, chocolate, strawberries.. yum...

We loaded up and went off to the Castleton Mall to go shopping. Kyle got handed some bad smelling perfume and cologne samples on paper.. but he put them in his pocket and kept smelling them.. why?.. no one knows what goes in that boy's mind.. NO ONE.. :) (I realize I'm making a lot of cracks on Kyle.. but.. well.. I do it all the time, so it doesn't matter)

Kyle found an (at least I thought) ugly watch that he wanted. I liked the color, but it would just really would have looked dumb on his wrist... but that's what i thought. It was too expensive, so he didn't get it. The girls did a fashion show for us in Delia's (does anyone know how to pronounce that correctly? We couldn't figure it out..) Darci and Ratina bought new, sexy clothes there.

Kyle and I split from the group after that. We went to Fossil, where I helped him pick out a new, sexy shirt (well.. not sexy on him.. would have been on me, though, but i didn't want to buy the same one) I even bought a shirt.. I'm not an impulse buyer, so I even surprised myself, but a shirt for $10.. can't beat that. Kyle insisted it matched my eyes and I looked hot in it (well, maybe not his exact words, but close enough).

Came back freakin' tired from shopping.. and it was only 3:00. Watched Shark Tale. Well, everyone else did at least. I took a 30 minute nap in the middle of it... His aunt/uncle have a sweet theater room. Huge screen that fitted their entire wall.. projector.. speakers.. comfy couch.. and I provided Sour Patch Kids.. now it doesn't get any better than that!

Went for a walk around their neighborhood.. went into some random house being built and took a tour of it. I would have bought that house.. it was just so amazing.. and huge and amazing and huge and just plain amazing. Threw around a frisbee with Kyle's aunt and himself. I kind of lost one under a bush surrounded by poison ivy.. oops.

Met Sandi (who drove up byherself) at Olive Garden and had a terrific meal. (Thanks, again!) Came back and watched, for my second time, The Notebook. (Ya.. Kyle and I were a little outnumbered by the girls in the house) It's not a bad movie.. just really long..

Kyle and I had a usual nighttime talk that lasted till 4 in the morning.. when's the last time we've done that, bud?

I woke up at 9, having to go pee, and then couldn't fall back asleep. Darci and Sandi were going to leave early, so all I could hear were their footsteps constantly, so I didn't fall back asleep. Had breakfast with those who were left, which was great.

Sandi called and said there was a bad accident on I-65, so Kyle and I tried to find 74. I think we circled almost the entire 465 loop before we found it lol. But, we, with me being his trusty navigator, didn't get lost. As if I didn't spend enough time with the Speakman's, I hung around their house for another hour or so, feeling like I wanted to fall asleep. I'm just sorry we won't be able to go again...
