The STORY OF THE WEEK
(The STEW)
is some long, dumb story involving some short dumb guy...

So, I guess you could say I got "lucky" in Vegas... Okay, let me explain...

It's 3:45 AM and my alarm goes off. It's vacation time! We depart at 4:30 for Indianapolis International Airport. We board the plane, ready for a four hour flight... Ugh.. this was going to be great fun!

"New York, New York"

Plane takes off... Eric falls asleep. Wakes up for 5 minutes. Falls asleep again. Wakes up and we're almost to Las Vegas. Amazing! We look down and we could see some of the Strip and everyone and their mothers (literally) were straining their necks to get a view out of the plane. I think the plane had this aura of excitement. We land and everyone immediately grabs their carry-ons and await to leave the plane.

I put my massive backpack on my back and try to turn around and see if I left anything. Well, this thing is so big, that I just keep hitting the seat. And, me, being lazy, didn't want to take it off. So, what do I do? Yep, I make my sister look. She gives me the coast is clear and we depart the aircraft.

The Sphinx at the Luxor

As soon as we exit the terminal, slot machines are like... EVERYWHERE. I wonder how many late flights Las Vegas has? I mean, if the plane is late, why not go gamble the rest of your lifesavings at the airport? Weird... okay.. moving on...

Well, we all go to the bathroom, take a seat for awhile and then head off towards Baggage Claim.

Airport's pretty big, so we have to take this tram all the way to the other side to the baggage claim. We gather our bags and we head to the rental car place. That's when it happens...

The Blue Man Group

I grab my butt (I know, you're jealous...), but I grab it.. and.. well.. it's gone. My Wallet. My money. My credit card. My debit card. My life...

I seriously have a heart attack on the spot. I'm in the middle of the terminal and I just stop. I start going through my massive backpack searching for it, but I know it's not there.

The only place where I thought it could be is that seat near the bathroom. It fell out there.. but that means it's just lying there.. and it's Vegas.. and.. it's gone. That totally made the rest of my trip terrible. The End.

Why? are you asking is there still more text. Well, b/c there's more story. We go to the Lost Baggage Office where this one guy is talking on the phone and writing something down. We wait in agony for him to get off of the phone.

The fountain at the Bellagio

We ask him if there's been a wallet turned in.. and that's when I see it. My name.. the guy just wrote my name down! The airline had found it! Think of the happiest moment in your life. Now, times that by 10. That's how good I felt. My Dad had to go through Airport Security and everything, and after an hour (no, it really took that long!) he comes back, with my wallet.. money.. credit card.. debit card.. and life. I felt like the luckiest guy in Vegas.. and that's probably saying something.

Moral of the story... (No, it's not don't put your wallet in your back pocket on an airplane.) It's... don't trust your sister to check your seat.

HEY! DON'T FORGET TO COME BACK! PHOTOS WILL BE INSERTED IN A FEW DAYS!

yo' brotha from a different motha'--> lol, i love making retarded names on here... (it's kyle by the way, but I doubt I needed to tell people that)
man, you were really lucky! That would have sucked so terribly bad! Especially if someone would have stole it and spent away all of your money gambling... Man, you're lucky dude!
And I know what you mean about the excitement on the plane... during spring break, everyone was so excited to fly down to Florida, but on the flight back, everyone seemed to be depressed flying back to rainy Indiana... haha, it was kind of strange.
Ok, bye!

Rach--> What do you mean, "We wait in agony..." Who's this we? I think YOU were the only one in panic mode! LOL And the moral of the story is to "not trust your sister to check your seat", but it's more, "don't carry such a gigundo bookbag so you can check it yourself!" :)
