Dr. Farouk Azizi joined Purdue University Calumet in Fall 2009 after his graduation with PhD in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his Masters and Bachelor both in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University Calumet and University of Tehran respectively. He worked as a consultant engineer during commissioning and startup of Shazand thermal power plant. He worked as Limited-Term Lecturer during 2003-2004 at Purdue University Calumet. His main research interest are  the developing Bio-MEMS (Biomedical Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and microfluidic systems for biomedical applications such as chemical neurostimulation, drug discovery and micro-total-analysis (μTAS). His other research interests include robotics, sensor integration, renewable energy and smart grid.
