Ferraro’s
recent research focuses on health inequality—especially ethnic
differences—and the prevention of health decline. He is principal
investigator of current projects sponsored by the National Institute
on Aging that examine (1) health trajectories of White and African
Americans and (2) life course inequality.
Ferraro has twice founded gerontology programs, at Northern Illinois
University and Purdue University. He regularly teaches courses on
minority health, longitudinal data analysis, and social gerontology.
He became a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America in 1990
and of the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education in 1997.
He welcomes inquiries from potential graduate students. |
