The Purdue Filipino Association is having its Spring 2011 Call Out Meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 6:30pm in KRAN G012! Come out to see what’s going on for the new semester, meet new people, and eat some yummy Filipino food! See you there!

Holidays Around the World will be held tomorrow, December 8, from 3:00pm-7:00pm in the PMU North Ballroom. For this event we reserved a booth and we have to come in at 1:30 to set it up and finish the booth by 2:30. If you can help set up at this time, that would greatly appreciated. We will set up our booth with a poster board which will explain Filipino culture and how Filipinos celebrate the holidays. At 5:45 we will be running an interactive activity teaching people how to do the Tinikling. For those who do not know what Tinikling is, it is a very popular Filipino National Dance which consists of bamboo sticks. Please come out and support PFA at our booth and tell all of your friends to come!

One of our last events of the semester is a Potluck Dinner/White Elephant at Tita Cindi’s on Sunday, December 5 from 2-5pm so mark your calendars! Please note that this is a potluck dinner, which meanseverybody has to bring chips, drinks (soda, juice or water), snacks, or desserts. Tita Cindi said she’ll provide the rest.

White Elephant info: Since we can’t ALL meet to pull out names to know which one to give a gift to (Secret Santa), we decided to do a White Elephant. Everybody must bring a gift that can be for a boy and girl. This gift can only be under $10 so it will be fair.

Elections: We will be voting for Jr. Board nominees during the Potluck Dinner/White Elephant event. It is very important for everyone to be there because your vote counts. Here are the nominees:

PSUB’s Holidays Around The World: We will be doing an interactive activity at PSUB’s HATW on Wednesday, December 8, from 3-7pm. More information to come soon so check your emails!

We are having a general meeting this Thursday, November 18 in BRNG B268 @ 6:00pm. Please make sure to come. We will be doing nominations for the upcoming semester. Here are the available positions:

- Webmaster
- Public Relations

We will have another Mackey Cleanup this Thursday at 9:00pm. It’s women’s basketball so it will be way easier to clean. Also, as you all know we will be participating in a Rice Bowl this Sunday with AAA. We will be playing football with them this Sunday, November 21 from 1:00-4:00pm. We sent everybody an invitation on Facebook so make sure you check it out for more details. To prepare for the game, we will be practicing this Saturday, November 20. We are not sure what time yet because we want to know everybody’s availability so we’ll keep everybody updated.
