10x10: Electronic and Time-Based Art
Prof. Fabian Winkler

Based on the motto "more is more" students will develop 10 works in electronic, digital or time-based media over the course of one semester. This course will focus on essential tools and techniques for generating, sketching and distributing ideas in the field of new media art using: DIY strategies, inexpensive construction materials, open source software and hardware solutions (e.g. Processing and Arduino), shared knowledge from online communities and research into relevant exhibition venues, festivals and competitions. It is also an opportunity for students to critique work in the process of its creation, develop strong conceptual ties between seemingly unrelated project sketches and/or experiment with one idea in different media (e.g. internet, sculpture, video, interactive computer graphics, sound, etc.).
