"Mother's Weekend is awesome! Everybody's mom comes. We play games and eat. There's the Bug Bowl. And our magnolia tree is in bloom! It's like everybody on campus is so happy!"

House Traditions
Big Sis/Little Sis :: A Big Sis is mentor and a confidant. She welcomes her Lil Sis into Glenwood and helps her adjust for cooperative living and answer questions about the house. Through the years the two will have a special bond!
Birthdays :: Happy Birthday! To celebrate, your Big Sis and/or Little Sis will bake you a cake (or some other goodies) and throw a small party, usually at dinner. It's your special day!
Homecoming Weekend :: On Homecoming, Glenwood holds our annual Chili Dinner to honor our alumni. This is a great time to trade stories, reminisce and hear how Glenwood "used to be."
Thanksgiving Dinner :: The Sunday preceding Thanksgiving vacation, we all combine our cooking talents to prepare a Thanksgiving Feast for our friends and families. Each member is allowed two guests apiece and often honored guests from the University will attend. The house is packed with special people and wonderful food. Mmm mmmm!
Pixie Week and Pixie Party :: This is not your typical Secret Santa! Just before Thanksgiving break, names are drawn out of a hat to find out who's Pixie you will be. Each girl makes a Pixie List, a creative, construction paper masterpiece, to adorn the stairwell with ideas for her Pixie. The week before finals you leave that person a little gift every day, Monday through Thursday, and sometime during the week you leave her a big gift under the tree. On Thursday night, Santa and three of his helpers arrive to conduct the festivities, help each girl guess who her Pixie is, and hand out gifts to each Glenwood girl. Ho! Ho! Ho! What fun!
Mother's Weekend :: Every mother loves to spend a weekend with her daughter. During Mother's weekend, a Purdue wide celebration held in the spring, Glenwood plans special activities and prepares a meal. The Bug Bowl is crawling with excitement. The Horticulture building is blooming with flowers. And our favorite sight is our magnolia tree in bloom!
