2008 FALL SCHEDULE(all club meetings start at 6:00P.M. and are in KRAN G005 )

Tues. September 9 – Meeting Topic:  Pizza party, new activity points, and new service projects.  Meeting Minutes.

Tues. September 16 - Service Project: Voter Registration Service: 5:30-7:30 in the residence halls.

Sun. September 28 - Service Project: 8:30a.m. - volunteers for the Boiler Triathlon. Contact Emma Meyer

Tues. October 7 – Meeting Topic:  International Conference Representative. Meeting minutes.

Sat. October 18 - Service Project : Oktoberfest! -volunteers to work during the afternoon or evening.  

       Shifts would last about an hour. Contact Emma Meyer

Tues. October 21 - Sun Microsystems Inc, 6:00 in Krannert G023 -

     Informational meeting with Sun Microsystems. A representative from Sun Microsystems will be giving a presentation on jobs and internships available.  This opportunity could be very advantageous for any interested Golden Key members.  There will also be food and t-shirts available for those who attend!

Mon. October 27 - Thurs. November 20 - Service Project -Fall Harvest Food Drive -

     Please bring canned goods by the Golden Key office in Stewart B2.  All of the donations will be going to benefit the Food Finders Food Bank, an organization that is hoping to eliminate hunger in this area.  We will be accepting donations from October 27 until November 20. Please bring by as many items as you are able!  To access the office it is best to drop by during office hours.  If the office hours listed are not convenient, please contact Emma Meyer to set up a meeting time.

Tues. November 4 – Meeting Topic:  Resume building. Meeting minutes.

Tues. November 11 - Golden Key Booth - 11am-1pm - outside of Class of 1950.

     FREE Hot Chocolate, Games, and some other free Golden Key items.  Please stop by if you have any questions.  If you want to help out please email Cara Snyder ASAP!

Second week of November - Service Project - Better World Book Drive -

     Golden Key has agreed to run a book drive through Better World Books, and the proceeds will benefit
the National Center for Family Literacy(http://www.betterworldbooks.com/Partners/NCFL.aspx).  Beginning in the second week of November we will be setting out book collection boxes and posting posters and flyers on campus to advertise for the book drive.  We need several volunteers to help out with this event!!!  Please contact an officer to find out more information.

Fri. December 5 - Golden Key will be participating in a Global Cafe event with the International Center.

The International Center is an independent community organization that works to foster understanding between cultures and encourages the relationship
between international students and instructors and the Greater Lafayette community.  Please feel free to check out their website: http://www.intlctr.org/www/home.php
The Global Cafe on December 5th would be a great way for Golden Key to reach out to the international community.  Also, for all the new members, this
would be a great chance for you to come out, meet the officers, and start getting involved with Golden Key before your induction!!

Sun. December 7 - Golden Key Induction - 11:30-12:00 Registration - STEW 302.  12:00 the Induction starts. 

     All Golden Key members are invited to attend!

Tues. December 9 – Meeting Topic:  Holiday Party/Book drive. Please bring a desert for the holiday party.

The 2008-2009 scholarship and award deadlines have been announced. Be sure to get your applications in early and encourage other members to apply as well. Claim your portion of the nearly $400,000(USD) awarded each year! Check the Golden Key website for an application as well as upcoming deadlines.  MEMBER BENEFITS AT WORK!
